Main ExLB.2 System
The ExLB.2 Main system is comprised of the ExLB, two 50cf air bottles, handling strap and actuation lanyard.
-
With all of the critical system components internal, the inflated ExLB protects them while under tow and while being dragged over terrain.
-
Rigged with our integrated 1st stage regulator bottle valve, the ExLB uses proprietary quick disconnect fittings to connect to the internal air system. On bottle gauges validate pressure prior to rigging.
-
Not critical for proper actuation, the manual pull lanyard provides an alternative triggering mechanism, as well as adds redundant manual operation should the mission demand it. Held in place by Safety Pin.
-
Colored bright red for easy identification, the handling strap includes the safety pin on a lanyard. As part of a dive sup check, removal of the handling strap as a last action also involves removing the safety pin, fully arming the system.
Component Storage
The ExLB.2 storage system is comprised of two bags of gear in one vented Pelican case
-
The entire system fits, ready to dive in a single Pelican 1660 Case.
-
The Deployment Bag is constructed out of 1000 denier Cordura and Hypalon, designed to house the entire sytem as it would be fielded. Deployment bag has stowable carry handles, an armored end that the nose of the system goes on to prevent wear through, and continuous loops around it’s perimeter to allow solid rigging to a duck or to a inflatable boat underway.
Additionally, the bag has a water resistant pocket to house the physical copy of the instruction manual and quick start guide.
-
Accessory Bag is designed in a similar manner to the deployment bag, and houses the ATAC, ATAC pins, Shuttle, Field Repair Kit and any bridle or rigging hardware you wish to maintain with the gear to ensure FMC without additional bags needed.
Accessory Bag
Accessory Bag contains ATAC, Shuttle, ATAC Pin, Field Repair Kit
-
The Automated Tow Actuated Coupler is generally coupled to the Shuttle in storage, and has it’s pin stored in it.
-
The Field Repair Kit (FRK) has it’s own inventory card and is intended to do exactly what it sounds like, provide repair capability while deployed in the field. Bag patch and glue, extra lanyard, extra pin lock, silicone grease, spare key o-rings, zipper wax, bottle fill adapters, surface inflation/deflation valve adapter, safety pin and spare CO2 cartridges are not intended to be consumed, but rather to be available if something arises. It’s a first aid kit for your system.
-
Often stored in the ATAC, the Shuttle is a key piece of hardware required for the ATAC to be used. It is the part attached to the weight that acts as a snatch block, pulling the system down under tow.
